Senior Girls

Senior Blue 11, Pomperaug 3: Seven players, four of whom scored more than one goal, shared in the scoring for Newtown. Noelle Benson, Maddy Peck, Alexa Summerlin, and Kat Jennings all had multigoal games. Eliza Eggleston helped Senior Blue control the game by winning five draws. The girls worked hard to get to the ground balls with Kyle Dandrea, Haley Trudell, and Eggleston leading the way. Brittany Boggs, Haley Kean, and Patricia Sullivan help protect goalie Lexi Samuels, who had a great game with seven saves.

Senior Blue 13, Darien 6: Seven different players scored the goals for Newtown and Noelle Benson kept the team strong by winning the draws and scoring goals. Emily Campbell helped out on the offensive end and Karly Gregorio on the defensive end by picking up the most ground balls. Once again a great effort put forth by the defensive end consisting of Haley Kean, Brittany Boggs, and Gregorio. Lexi Samuels had 11 saves in the game.

Junior Girls

Junior Gold 12, RELax 5: On a very hot day, the Junior Gold team outlasted RELax in Redding. Dori Farley and Maddy Bridges were stellar in the goal, making ten combined saves. The defense was led by Celia Gold, Chloe Amante, and Quinn Karp. Liz Zambernardi and Brittany Meisenheimer combined to scoop up eight groundballs. The attack was led by Lindsay Hoyt, Nevan Gattey, Emma Horne, Nikki Zaccaro, Charlotte Stenz, and Julia Wiberg.

Ridgefield 11, Junior Gold 6: In a tough loss many players still shined. Caroline Keane, Julian Patelli, and Emily Bell combined to scoop up 12 ground balls. Michaela Hall and Grace Sandercox played tough in the midfield. Goals were scored by Charlotte Stenz, Maddy Bridges, Julia Wiberg, and Brittany Meisenheimer.

Junior Gold 6, Brookfield 3: Bridget Walsh was outstanding in the goal, making six saves, while the defense, anchored by Celia Gold, Charlotte Stenz, Tessa Leon-Gambetta, and Chloe Amonte, limited Brookfield’s chances. Brittany Meisenheimer led the team in hustle getting five ground balls. On the offense goals were scored by Nikki Zaccaro, Julia Wiberg, Emma Horne and Nevan Gattey.

Junior Blue 11, Brookfield 11: Olivia Holman made six saves in goal. Jillian DiMartino and Sarah O’Rourke controlled the defense. Madison Ventresca and Nicole Frascatore had two assists. Meghan Doyle, Katie Mossbarger, Cam Morris, Casey Harkins, Hannah Bellagamba, Brianna Sclafani, and Julia Sughrue all scored.

Junior Blue 13, Bethel 5: Olivia Holman and Alana O’Donnell combined for seven saves in goal. Sarah Frascatore and Liz Cain scooped up two ground balls each. Goals were scored by Lilly McBride, Sclafani, Katie Capelli, Zimmerman, Bellagamba, O’Donnell, Caroline Caporale and Julia Sughrue. Peyton Cutolo had an assist.

Bantam Girls

Newtown 11, Ridgefield 6: Kira Smith and Danielle Samson combined for six saves in goal. Rylee Mulligan and Cassidy Kortze scooped up nine groundballs between them. Hayley Lambert and Rachel Tomasino stymied the opponent on defense. Lauren Carrino, Lexy Leidlein, Dylan Zahansky, Carrino, Mulligan and Kortze all scored.

Newtown 9, Brookfield 5: Haley Harkins and Liz Hodge were a force in goal combining for seven saves. Brooke Varnum and Olivia Hage controlled the field with three ground balls each. Danielle Powell and Alex Futterman had two picks each in the midfield. Goals were scored by Caroline Condon, Carrino, Harkins, Hage, and Hodge.
