To the Editor:

Tuesday, July 25th at 7:30 pm, Newtown Republicans will gather in the Edmond Town Hall gymnasium at a caucus to endorse a slate of candidates for the 2023 Municipal Election to be held this November. I humbly seek to lead the ticket as the Republican candidate for First Selectman.

Seeking the nomination continues to be an incredible journey that began more than 18 months ago. It started with long conversations with my wife, children, and friends. While I’ve volunteered for public service almost as long as I’ve lived in Newtown, I have always worked in the private sector.

I started in software development, transitioned to production engineering and currently I work in business engineering leading several cross-sector teams of production engineers, manufacturing and program leads and analysts.

I have been honored to serve the residents of Newtown’s Third Legislative Council district for almost ten years, six of which I have served as chairman. Between terms on the Legislative Council, I served two terms on the Board of Selectmen under current First Selectman Dan Rosenthal. I hope to succeed Dan and to further many of his priorities including keeping taxes low, helping business grow and providing services necessary to maintain our excellent community.

Attending a nominating caucus allows you to exercise your right to participate in the selection of the Republican slate of candidates this November, including your candidate for First Selectman. The Caucus is your opportunity to directly participate in our democracy at the local level.

The years of knowledge and experience I have accumulated through my past service to Newtown together with the lessons gained from a successful business career make me the best candidate to lead Newtown for the next four years. I am committed to winning this election with hard work and the delivery of the message that I will lead Newtown with dignity and the experience necessary to support and grow our community.

I urge all registered Republicans to come to the caucus, and I humbly ask for your vote as the Republican endorsed candidate for First Selectman of Newtown.

All Newtown registered Republicans are invited to attend the caucus. Please help me in spreading the word about this exciting and important event, by extending this invitation to any registered Republicans you know in Newtown.
