To the Editor:

The recent letter “Looking for Representation for All” written by Ms Lynn Hungaski is another example of negative rhetoric devoid of any constructive thought or commentary. The author seeks only to tear Mr Bolinsky down. It offers no positive, substantive, or quantifiable remarks. Worse yet, it is inaccurate.

As many have pointed out, Mr Bolinsky is a tireless advocate for people of all races, genders, religions, and beliefs. He is for everyone and has demonstrated that by helping countless people. In Mitch, you need look no further. You’ve already found someone who represents all the people and who has, does, and will continue to do so all of the time. Our town, state, and world need people who take action to affect positive change. We have enough who simply spout slogans or labels. If the author would take as much time to read and investigate as to ill-informedly criticize, she would easily find out what Mitch is about. The author correctly points out that Mitch has a responsibility “to fight for our most vulnerable citizens.” Well, for four consecutive terms in office, Mitch has been doing precisely that. He has:

*unfailingly helped many small minority and women owned businesses and secured support for them from the Dept. of Economic Community Development;

*selflessly come to the aid of senior citizens and the disabled;

*been an advocate for special education families who may have been denied their rights under established programs;

*devoted himself to assist the wrongly incarcerated who are now able to introduce new evidence in their defense.

It doesn’t take much effort to learn what Mitch actually stands for. As a member of the Newtown Republican Town Committee, Mitch joined in writing a recent letter to The Bee that unequivocally denounces racism, police brutality, and injustice while calling for open-minded dialogue. He clearly believes that every single person on the planet matters and proves that through his actions. He’s helped minority, repressed, under-represented, disenfranchised, and marginalized groups without regard to anything but their needs and his desire to do the right thing. Give the letter “In Support of our Newtown Police Department” a read, then draw your own conclusions.

You can stop looking, Ms Hungaski. You’ve found what you want in Mitch Bolinsky. He’s been doing the right thing all along — even before the nation began at long last to raise its collective consciousness. He’s one of those who didn’t need that overdue wake up call. I’ll vote for his track record of consistent diligent effort and proven on the job results any day.
