Erik M. Johnstone, a ‘96 graduate of Fairfield Prep, has graduated from Loyola College in Maryland in May with a BA in elementary education. Mr Johnstone made the Dean’s List at Loyola for the spring semester. He then earned his TEFL certification June 30, from the Boston Language Institute.  He is currently teaching in Venice, Italy.

Kate M. Johnstone, a ‘98 graduate of Lauralton Hall and a sophomore at Tufts Univ in Boston, was named to the Deans List for the spring semester.

 Alison Marie Peterman of Sandy Hook was recognized as an Oldham Scholar at the Univ of Richmond for 2000-01. Oldham scholarships are valued at $24,670 and provide full tuition, fees, room, and board for eight semesters of undergraduate study. Also provided is a $1,500 grant for summer study or travel which may be supplemented with an additional $1,500 for an approved semester of study abroad. Recipients are selected based on academic performance, character, and leadership.

Stephanie Baade, daughter of Renee and David Baade of Newtown, received an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St Louis on May 19. Ms Baade graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Jessica Carino of Sandy Hook has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at the Univ of Maryland at College Park. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is a highly selective, national, non-profit honors organization.

Elizabeth Bishop, daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Bishop of Newtown, received honors at the close of the fourth marking period at St Joseph HS.
