Sophie M. Zinn
Sophie M. Zinn, 80, of 19-A Drapeau Road, New Milford, died November 25 at her
home. She was the sister of Irene Scosta of Newtown.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., December 4, 1917, a daughter of Jack and
Bessie Fedina Zinn. She lived in Brewster, N.Y., from 1957 to 1982, when she
moved to New Milford.
She had been a Cub Scout den mother for 16 years. In 1997, she was honored by
Connecticut Continuing Education with the Learner of the Year Award. She was a
parishioner of St. Francis Church, New Milford.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by a son, Thomas Brady of Redwood
City, Calif.; two daughters, Joyce Hanshe of Ocala, Fla., and Joan Brightly of
New Milford; two brothers, Michael Zinn and Joseph Zinn, both of Stratford;
two other sisters, Polly Dwinells of Bethel and Mildred Hwozdek of State
College, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
The funeral was held November 28 from the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge
Street, New Milford, to St. Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian
Burial. Interment was at the convenience of the family.

Francesco Reppucci
Francesco A. (Sarge) Reppucci, 75, of Easton, beloved husband of Irene Garrity
Reppucci, died November 30, in West Haven Veterans Hospital. He was the father
of James Reppucci of Sandy Hook.
Born in Everett, Mass., he had been an Easton resident for over 60 years. Mr
Reppucci owned and operated Sarge's Sanitation in Easton for 35 years prior to
his retirement ten years ago. He served in the United States Air Force during
World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post
160 and the Easton Volunteer Fire Dept.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two other sons, Michael Reppucci of
Milford and William Reppucci of Easton; a sister, Anna Reppucci of Medway,
Mass.; two grandsons, Sean Michael Reppucci and Lucas James Reppucci; and
several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are by
Country Cremation Service, 36 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield.

Margaret Holmes
Margaret Helen Holmes of Oldefield Farms in Enfield passed away on November 26
at Evergreen Health Care Center after a valiant two-year battle with cancer.
Born in Old Deerfield, Mass., on May 5, 1920, the daughter of Whitman B. and
Helen (Rankin) Wells, she was educated in Greenfield, Mass. and graduated from
North Adams State College in Massachusetts. She had a long career as an
elementary school teacher, mostly in Newtown, before retiring in 1982.
She and her husband moved to Enfield in 1985. She was an active member of the
Enfield Women's Club and a member of the Enfield Congregational Church and its
Bell Choir. A fun loving person, she loved travel, playing bridge,
cross-country skiing and golf.
Devoted to her family, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gordon D.
Holmes; two daughters, Peg Holmes of Suffield and Nancy Douton of Columbia;
three grandchildren, Edward Douton, Kathleen Douton and Pamela Douton of
Columbia; and three sisters, Elizabeth Mott and Sally Wells of Greenfield,
Mass., and Mary Hathaway of Fort Collins, Colo.
A memorial service will take place December 5 at the Enfield Congregational
Church. There will be no calling hours. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels is
assisting the family with arrangements.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Old Deerfield, Mass. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Oscar W. Jensen
Oscar W. Jensen, PhD, 59, died November 24 at his home in Norwalk. He was the
husband of Isabel (Santos) Jensen, and the father of Christina Zadravec of
Newtown.
Born in Bridgeport, January 21, 1939, he was a son of Sue (Holick) Jensen of
Bridgewater, and the late Oscar Jensen.
Mr Jensen had lived in Bridgeport for the past seven years and was a professor
of business strategy and technology management at Fairfield University School
of Business. He was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, mother, and daughter, his survivors include another
daughter, Anna Jensen of Ithaca, N.Y.; a sister, Barbara Buzzuto of
Gaylordsville; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.
Funeral services took place in the Raymond Funeral Home, Norwalk, November 28,
with the Rev Robert D. Beinke, pastor, officiating. Donations may be made to
the charity of one's choice.

Joseph A. Adriani
Joseph A. Adriani, of Fairfield, died December 1 in his home. He was the
father of Ellen Adriani of Newtown.
Mr Adriani, a retired employee of the Silliman Company, Bridgeport, was born
in Bridgeport and was a life-long area resident.
He was a member of the American Diabetic Association, the National Association
of Watch and Collectors Inc. and a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus St.
Theresa Council.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his wife, Virginia Gillespie
Adriani; another daughter, Mary Broderick of Bridgeport; four sisters, Helen
Adriani of Bridgeport, Nancy Adriani of Bridgeport, Mary Czufin of California
and Florence Maier of Milford; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on December 4 at 9:30 am in the
Assumption Church, Fairfield. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery,
Trumbull. Calling hours were scheduled for December 3 from 3 to 8 pm in the
Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport.

Peter McIntosh
Peter Hartford McIntosh died November 29 at his home in Redding of Lou
Gehrig's Disease (ALS).
He was the son of Josephine Hoffman McIntosh and Allan James McIntosh of
Bedford, N.Y. He was born in Orange, N.J., and attended the Eaglebrook School,
Principia School and Rollins College. Mr. McIntosh was an Air Force Veteran.
He was a pilot for United Airlines for 33 years, a member of the Weston
Volunteer Fire Department and an alternate on the Redding Planning Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Joan H. McIntosh; sons, Bruce of Taos, N.M., Keith
of Santa Fe, N.M., Alan of Norwalk, Duncan of Rolling Hills, Calif.; a
brother, Michael of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Joy McIntosh of Taos, N.M.;
and two granddaughters. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Karen Collins, of
Preston, Md.
A service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Redding Ridge, December 12
at 2 pm.

Mary Casey Maurer
Mary Casey Maurer, 91, mother of Geraldine McCarthy Farrell of Newtown,
formerly of Heritage Village, Southbury, and Newtown, died December 2 in the
Glen Hill Convalescent Center, Danbury, where she had been a resident the past
five years. She was the wife of the late Walter Maurer.
Mrs Maurer was born in Buffalo, N.Y., November 21, 1907, a daughter of the
late John and Gertrude Casey. She was a resident of Newtown from 1945 to 1979.
She lived in Southbury from 1979 to 1993. For 25 years she was employed as an
occupational therapist at Fairfield Hills Hospital. She was a communicant of
St Rose of Lima Church.
Mrs Maurer is survived by another daughter, Beverly Perkins of California; and
four grandchildren, including William McCarthy of Newtown.
Funeral Services will be held December 8 at 10 am in the Honan Funeral Home,
58 Main Street, Newtown. Burial will be in Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home December 8 after 9 am.

Dorothy Novelli
Dorothy Novelli, 81, of North Street, Milford, beloved wife for 61 years of
Joseph A. Novelli, died December 2, in Milford Hospital after being stricken
in her home. She was the grandmother of Kelley Cagganello of Sandy Hook.
Born in Mamaroneck, N.Y., daughter of the late William and Ella Marshall
Innes, she was a long time resident of Milford. Mrs Novelli was a secretary
for the former F.H. Woodruff and Sons Company of Milford, which later became
the Asgrow Seed Company for many years. She then was the secretary to the
director of the Platt Regional Vocational Technical School, Milford, until
retiring in 1987. Following her retirement, Mrs Novelli owned and operated,
along with her husband and son, the Rolling Acres Apple Orchard of Milford.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Gary Novelli of
Milford; three daughters, Joyce McGovern of Branford, Nancy Thomas of
Millersville, Md., and Bonnie Kulenych of Milford; six other grandchildren,
Joanne Allen of Medford, Mass., Susan Thomas of Millersville, Md., Sarah
Goddard of Columbia, Md., Christopher Kulenych of Milford, Jeffrey Kulenych of
Milford, and Lisa Novelli of Milford; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas
and John of Sandy Hook.
Services will take place December 5 at 11 am in the Cody-White Funeral Home,
107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. Interment will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call December 4 from 4 to 8 pm.

Harold W. Ticehurst
Harold W. Ticehurst, 75, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Brookfield and
Bethel, died Monday at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach. He was
the husband of Jacqueline R. Broadbrook Ticehurst and the brother of Esther
Shanley of Newtown.
Mr Ticehurst was born in Beacon, N.Y., Aug. 19, 1923, a son of the late
William Henry and Estella White Ticehurst. He moved to Bethel as a young boy
and was a graduate of Bethel High School, Class of 1941, where he was
president of his class. He entered the U.S. Army in February 1943, serving in
the 104th infantry regiment, in the campaign of southern France, and the
Rhineland. Upon his return from the service in 1946, he entered Bentley
College and graduated in 1948 with a degree in accounting.
He was employed by the Danbury Rubber Company, and most recently as the
comptroller for Steiner Incorporated of Bethel, retiring in 1988. He was a
former realtor for Streaman Real Estate, Bethel.
Mr Ticehurst was a resident of Brookfield for 36 years, wintering in Vero
Beach, until moving there permanently four years ago. A former member of St.
Thomas Episcopal Church, Bethel, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Brookfield,
he was a current member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. He was a
member of the National Accounting Association and Shipper's and Carrier's
Association, holding the post of president in both organizations. He was also
a member of American Legion Post 39 in Vero Beach.
Besides his wife and sister, he is survived by two daughters, Carole M. Shuman
of Wolcott and Barbara J. Ticehurst of Provincetown, Mass.; two brothers, Paul
Ticehurst of Danbury and Donald Ticehurst of Brookfield; one other sister,
Ruth Hatch of Brookfield; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at a time and place to be announced. Burial
will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
