EMT Training Class Forming

SOUTHBURY — Southbury Ambulance Association, Inc is sponsoring an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class in Southbury. The course will be starting on September 15, and will run into mid March.

The class will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9. Students will have classroom instruction, guest presentations,  and demonstrations, including hands-on practical experience.

This will be a rigorous and challenging program preparing students to take the State of Connecticut examination for an EMT certification.

Students who receive the state certification will be able to give prehospital care to patients and may work on an ambulance (municipal, commercial, or volunteer).

In some cases, EMTs work in a hospital settings, and those who have taken the course find it is a great way to help their community by volunteering time to help others, as a way to earn extra income, or as an exciting career.

Class size is limited. All students must be at least 16 years of age or older at the time of course completion. All students under 18 years of age must have parental consent.
