Accepting Applications For Nursing Program

WATERBURY — Naugatuck Valley Community College is accepting applications through January 15 for entrance into its fall 2004 nursing program.

Students planning to apply must take the National League for Nursing Pre-Admission Test that will be offered on campus on October 3 at 8:30 am, October 22 at 5 pm, November 8 at 8:30 am, December 4 at 5 pm, and January 8 at 5 pm.

Interested students must register for the test at least 30 days prior to the test date. There is a $30 nonrefundable test fee.

NVCC will be accepting up to 110 students into its associate’s degree nursing program in 2004. The credits are transferable toward the requirements for a bachelor’s degree in nursing at nine Connecticut colleges and universities.

To be eligible for the nursing program, students must have completed intermediate algebra, anatomy, and physiology I and II and chemistry with a laboratory component with a minimum “C” grade within the last five years. Prospective students who have not yet completed the necessary prerequisites may contact an admissions counselor to discuss registering for the courses needed to prepare for entrance into the nursing program.

Applications for the preadmission test and additional information can be obtained by calling Beverly Niwinkski at 203-596-8746.
