Let Them Take Out San Diego
To The Editor:
In a meeting with Nebraska Republicans last week, President Trump intimated it was okay for Iran to “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego. . Never mind that 130,000 American servicemen and women are stationed in San Diego, alongside millions of American citizens in each city this president took an oath to defend. “It’s a small price to pay” he said — a truly absurd statement stemming from his illegal, unjustified and unwanted war. Incredibly, Trump’s harangue at the meeting was cheered by his fellow Republicans!
Even more incredible, Trump’s Nebraska statements and late-night posts are just a fraction of the sewage that spews incessantly from the uninhabited brain of a pseudo king who has clearly lost his mind. Has there ever been a single, inspirational word from his lips to heal the heat he’s created between us or our friends? Not only has he smeared this country’s reputation around the world, he’s driven a wedge between us and our allies while venerating our enemies. It will take a very, very long time to undo the damage he's done.
I was a Republican voter for many years when there was a semblance of intelligence and dignity in the party but those days are sadly gone. I sincerely hope the midterms are the beginning of a change that rids this country of the ignorance and divisiveness that has been brought upon us by this warped president and his followers in the party.
