To The Editor:

When it comes to Mitch Bolinsky, there are no Democrats or Republicans; there are only Newtowners.

A little while back, I listened to an interesting discussion between a Rabbi and a Christian Pastor. The dialogue led to finding more common ground than an opposing landscape. One conclusion they both conceded was that there were “crazies” on both sides of their respective faiths that sometimes clouded their respective convictions. The same holds true in politics. There are extreme opinions on the fringe of both Democrats and Republicans. But right in the middle, right where it matters the most, is the most Newtown centric candidate Newtown could possibly ask for; State Representee Mitch Bolinsky.

During the past fourteen years serving as Newtown’s State Representative, Mitch has accomplished so much:

He has helped establish Connecticut’s Office of Dyslexia & Reading Disabilities.

He has championed the CARE Act for Seniors providing home-based assistance as an alternative.

He has strengthened protections against financial exploitation of seniors.

Secured state funding for Newtown projects including; school safety, indoor air quality, Hawleyville sewers, Fairfield Hills streetscape, Sandy Hook streetscape, and other local infrastructure projects.

He restored $4.89MM to Newtown after a gubernatorial cut.

He is a founding member of Connecticut’s I/DD Caucus advocating for those with autism.

His legislative work includes working on domestic violence protections.

He helped protect Newtown’s Horse Guard.

And has participated in four consecutive NO TAX INCREASE BUDGETS!

This is why you never hear Mitch speak negatively or attack his opponent. He doesn’t have to. He has an outstanding track record to stand on.

I want to thank all the Democrats and Independents for acknowledging Mitch’s importance to Newtown and who continue to support him based on his integrity and not his party.
