Business name: Boost Bowls

Address: 6 Queen Street, Newtown

Owners: Valdrin & Tatiana Mehmeti

What is your business background? We opened our first location in Bethel almost five years ago. We felt like the area was missing a quick healthy food place. We lived in California and they had a juice bar in every corner.

What is your business’s focus? Our most popular item is our acai bowl. We offer [a] build-your-own-bowl and have different bases and toppings you can pick. We also have fresh juices, smoothies, protein shakes, sandwiches, and wraps. For Newtown, we will be adding salad bowls and a coffee bar!

What is something important that you want readers to know about your business? Boost is not only be about the food but the experience. For the Newtown location, we worked really hard on the design of the store and wanted to provide something you would normally see in a big city. It’s very trendy and artsy. We wanted a place with a cool atmosphere that [people] would want to hang out at. We also [will] build an outdoor patio that will be completely designed for spring of 2021.
