EverWonder Children’s Museum, at 31 Pecks Lane, has announced its calendar for November.

This month, the Yellow Art Lab will be filled with turkeys… paper ones, that is. Museum visitors will be invited to create their own personalized Thankful Turkey craft. In the Blue Science Lab, visitors will crate their own picture charts to explore the life cycle of a pumpkin.

Story Lab for Young Explorers will continue to meet each Tuesday and Thursday, from 10:30 to 11 am. This is a 30-minute program of STEM-themed stories, activities, and crafts. Parents must stay with their children during the program, which is included with museum admission.

Special Events

All month, EverWonder will be collecting nonperishable foods for FAITH Food Pantry. With each nonperishable donation, museum visitors will receive $2 off museum admission.

*Thursday, November 6, Robotic Finger: Museum guests will be invited to create a flex sensor to control a robotic finger.

This program is for ages 6 and up and is limited to 20 participants. It will begin at 1 pm, and reservations are strongly suggested. It is included with museum admission.

*Visit with Ranger Nate on Fridays, November 9 and 23, from 10 am to 2 pm.

A wildlife educator from Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, Ranger Nate has animal furs and information to share with visitors of all ages. His presentations are included with museum admission.

*Sunday, November 11, Veterans Day: in honor of Veterans day, all visiting veterans and their families will be admitted free of charge to the museum.

There will also be crafts celebrating Veterans Day.

*Friday, November 16: The Science of Wine, at Nouveau Monde.

Our annual fundraiser will be a night filled with food, drinks, live music, and amazing items available through auction.

Tickets are $100-$150 and available at everwondermuseum.org/scienceofwine. Proceeds will benefit the museum.

The event calendar is subject to change without notice. Check everwondermuseum.org or the museum’s Facebook page for calendar changes and announcements. For more information, visit the website or send e-mail to info@everwondermuseum.org.

Admission is $7 per person (free for those 12 months and under, museum members, and veterans). Parking at the museum is also free. Memberships and gift certificates are available.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm.

Note that the museum will close at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 21, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. It will also be closed Thursday, November 22, for Thanksgiving, but it is scheduled to open at 9 am Friday, November 23.

Formed in January 2011 by a group of parents, EverWonder Children’s Museum (incorporated as Newtown Children’s Museum Inc) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring children and families in northern Fairfield County through the use of hands-on museum exhibits and demonstrations.
