Reject The ‘Smear Campaigns’

To the Editor:

This election cycle seems to have numerous ads filled with disinformation generated by political action committees not directly associated with any particular candidate. Many are targeted smear campaigns whose assertions are impossible to verify.

As a result I urge all voters to form your own opinions based on a candidate’s expressed public opinion on an issue or their actions while in office.

We should not forget Governor Lamont’s actions while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. He did everything he could to keep all of us safe during this public health emergency and avoided allowing politics and misinformation to impact his leadership and decision process. He clearly will continue to support a woman’s right to choose and has taken steps to ensure common sense gun legislation is in place in our state.

Senator Blumenthal has consistently supported a woman’s right to choose and also supported the bipartisan Safer Communities Act which was the first common sense gun legislation passed in decades.

Captain Tim Gavin has provided clear statements on a constituent’s questions around a woman’s right to choose and common sense gun legislation. He has and continues to serve in the US Army which demonstrates he is a true public servant.

I urge all of you to dismiss the political action committee “noise” and vote for candidates who will truly represent our interests.

Respectfully submitted,

Gavin Arneth

None of the above represent my interests. So I guess I’m good to vote.
