Town Assets Managed Poorly
Town Assets Managed Poorly
To the Editor:
Christian Deschermeierâs letter on Fairfield Hills (The Tip Of The Iceberg) really hits the nail on the head. Despite having years to have a detailed analysis prepared on the costs of cleaning up Fairfield Hills, our town government has really accomplished very little on this subject.
For anyone who thinks Newtown has the expertise or capabilities to handle a project of this size, let me give you a list of items to consider: Edmond Town Hall, Newtown Hook and Ladder Firehouse, Town Hall South, the Teen Center, the public library renovation, and the high school expansion. Time and time again, the evidence has shown that Newtown has done a poor job managing and renovating its assets. What makes us so confident that Fairfield Hills will be any different? Letâs not forget the upcoming 5/6 school project. Iâm voting with my wallet on this one â Mr Becker please save us from our well intentioned but naive elected officials!
