Frank Peck

Frank Allen Peck, 89, formerly of Newtown, died November 26 at Abbott Terrace Health Center in Waterbury. He was born December 13, 1927, in Danbury, son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Gaeb) and Vernon Wilbur Peck.

Mr Peck joined the Merchant Marine at age 17 and was a US Army veteran serving from 1948 to 1952. He was a corporal with the military police highway patrol, stationed in West Berlin, Germany. He retired at age 83 as a sales rep for Fuel Activator Chemical and was the former owner of Woodpecker Crafts.

He was an avid gardener, great cook, and a UConn Huskies Women's Basketball fan. He traveled around the world, Alaska being his favorite place.

Mr Peck was a longtime resident of Newtown, building his home there in 1959, where he raised his bushel of kids.

His children, Nancy Williams and husband Larry of Southbury, Susan Ruscoe and Elizabeth Chandler, both of Murrieta, Calif., and James Peck of Danbury; his grandchildren, Peter Williams of Kingsland, Texas, Lauren Kupis of Watertown, Andrei Ruscoe of Northridge, Calif., Alena Ruscoe of Menifee, Calif., and Jennifer Chandler of Camarillo, Calif.; and one great-granddaughter survive him.

All services will be private.
