To the Editor:

It is with honor that I take this moment to introduce Jennifer Nicoletti to Newtown residents. Last May my dear friend,Sue Hatfield, whom ran for State AG as well as the ex-Chairmen of State Republican Party reached out to introduce her friend since 4th grade, Jennifer Nicoletti. The irony being 2 evenings earlier I had witnessed Jenn at a BOE meeting as the only person in the room to speak up, in what was a very uncomfortable moment for all in the room, indeed I was very impressed. Sue Hatfield’s enthusiasm regarding Jen Nicoletti is spot on and I could not agree more. This is the type of individual Newtown wants and need involved in our town affairs. Jen has lived in Newtown for the past nine years with her family. Whether she is volunteering as a girls’ basketball coach or local animal shelters, she is involved. She has also has worked for 22 years for the March of Dimes on behalf of moms and babies to improve birth outcomes as well for the past 3 years advocating for the elderly to ensure quality of life in their sunset. Jen Nicoletti is a conservative mind who brings fresh ideas and dialogue to the table. The term fearless comes to my mind, this is exactly why combined with all her other attributes that I personally chose Jen Nicoletti and endorsed her Candidacy for Legislative Council, District 2, for the Republican Party ticket. The Republican Party has an amazing array of Candidates running for office, from Jeff Capeci running for First Selectman all the way down the ticket, Jennifer Niccoletti is one of those and deserves to be elected. I hope you will join me in voting for her as well as all the Republican Candidates on Row B come November 7th.

Editor’s Note: Readers should be advised that The Newtown Bee has had a longstanding rule in place that allows two letters per letter writer per month but only one letter per person per week. That distinction was included regularly for years in the weekly presentation of “How To Write A Letter To The Editor,” but has since been lost during system updates and layout changes. We apologize for any confusion and/or challenge this has caused any readers.

During multiple back-and-forth email conversations this past week, however, a pair of letters by William DeRosa were confused among the nearly 40 letters received for publication. Mr DeRosa submitted two letters; only one was picked up for the November 3, 2023 print edition. The letter above did not go into print. It should have been merged with the letter that did appear in print, which has also already been posted to this website.

We apologize to the readers who have tried to submit more than one letter in the past during the same news cycle, only to be told about this longstanding rule. We appreciate those who have accepted that, and who worked with us to find a mutually acceptable conclusion. We will make sure all guidelines are spelled out moving forward.

A letter from William DeRosa.

She seems really nice. Can’t possibly be the same Jen Nicolleti who berated people for their choices during the pandemic or accused our school librarians of committing a felony.
