Girls 8th

Redding 38, Newtown 33 – Sara Kelley popped in 16 points and Jennifer Daily added seven but Newtown fell to Redding. Kristen Errico and Nicole Elias were strong off the boards for Newtown.

Newtown 43, Darien 42 – Sara Kelley scored 21 points (knocking down 10-of-13 from the line) and Jennifer Dailey added 11 to lead Newtown past Darien. Ally Modzelewski chipped in five points to spark the offense. Defensively, Megan Bridges and Lyndsey Burns played well.

Newtown 44, Fairfield 34 – The half court trap provided enough defensive pressure to allow Newtown to pull ahead of Fairfield for the win. Sara Kelley poured in 28 points (9-of-13 from the line) while Jennifer Dailey chipped in seven points. Kate Bowen dished out six assists while Kristen Errico and Kaitlin Marsden had strong rebounding games to lead Newtown to victory.

Girls 7th

New Fairfield 29, Newtown 25 – KellyAnne Brophy led all scorers with 11 points, but the Nighthawks fell to New Fairfield. Maggie Donohue, Colleen Cunningham and Chelsea Gray chipped in four points each.

Newtown 25, St. Mary’s of Ridgefield 22 (OT) – The Lady Hawks overcame a late St. Mary’s rally to pull the game out in overtime. Colleen Cunningham scored the lone basket in the extra session to cap off a great game with nine points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Maggie Donohue, Alex Grant and Christie Iorfino combined for 14 points.

Weston 32, Newtown 23 – KellyAnne Brophy and Colleen Cunningham combined for 13 points and 15 rebounds in a loss to Weston. Marilyn LaCroce made a key basket and added three steals. Taylor Benson, Christie Iorfino and Meghan Loose combined for 18 rebounds.

Boys 6th

Weston 51, Newtown 44 (OT) – Austin Bonadio scored 10 points and was the defensive stopper, but Newtown fell to Weston in overtime. Danny Gallagher tossed in nine points, Taylor Steimle added eight and Trey Trudell contributed seven to support the offense. Will Fletcher and Erik Samuelson anchored the D.

Girls 5th

Attack 13, St. Mary’s 11 – Bridget Power, Maddy Good and Julia Trudell powered the offense as Clare Miles, Erin Kenning and Samantha Steimle were aggressive on defense.

St. Mary’s 28, Attack 26 – Tressa Scott, Meaghan Harkins and Brittany Tolla kept the ball at the Newtown end but the Attack fell to St. Mary’s. Caitlin Yakush, Kristiana Engler and Stephanie Roman were strong on defense in the loss.

Junior Girls

Kids On The Court 31, Celtics 28 – Emma Kingsley scored 10 points and Ali Pliszka added nine more with 15 rebounds to lead the Kids to the win. Pickles Paproski dished off eight assists while Meghan Wilson made seven steals.. For the Celtics, Casey Router canned 10 points and Nicole Escoda ripped down 16 boards. Samantha Lockhart canned six points as Aria Brownell had a solid floor game.

Pacers 33, Knicks 18 – Brittany Wiberg popped in 19 points and Maggie Korth grabbed 12 rebounds as the Pacers rolled. Katie Pessin and Taylor Johnson anchored the D. For the Knicks, Deanna Tassinari canned 15 points while Brady Eggleston dished off eight assists and grabbed 10 rebounds..

Gaels 46, Knicks 24 – Meredith LaPerch scored 17 points as the Gaels defeated the Knicks. Anne Fletcher, Sarah Benson and Kate Foy played well. For the Knicks, Deanna Tassinari scored 14 points, Christie Johnson made six steals, and Brady Eggleston pulled down 10 boards.

Huskies 35, Bulls 27 – Lisa Vendel scored 15 points while Christina Naldini and Sara Pettinelli combined for 11 more to lead the Huskies to the win. Shannon Zamary and Breanne Lubinski played well. For the Bulls, Carolyn Fagan dished three assists, Kaley Krueger made four steals, and Cynthia Reynolds grabbed six rebounds.

Junior Boys

Wildcats 64, Knicks 34 – Brian Reed canned 16 points and John Fracker pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Wildcats to the win. Dylan Burger dished off four assists and Rockwell Anyoha blocked four shots. For the Knicks, Tim Dalton and Eric Thornberg combined for 17 points. Brendan Blawie, Dan White and Josh Volpe played well.

Huskies 54, Knicks 35 – Kyle O’Connor popped in 12 points while Cody Mather had four points and five assists to lead the Huskies to the win. Alex Saviano dropped in nine points and Theo Hartlett had a solid floor game. For the Knicks, Eric Thornberg canned 14 points as Ken Gottschalck, Alex Nordstrom, Matt Swigart and Calvin Song played well.

Eagles 43, Orangemen 41 – Max Paynter poured in 22 points and Cody Fisher grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Eagles. Mike Zaccaro had four points and seven assists and Trevor Todd had five points. For the Orangemen, Tim Lalli and Evan Triantifilidis dropped in eight points apiece. Jeff Brown drained a three-point basket from half-court at the buzzer to excite the crowd.

Red Devils 56, Jaspers 32 – Jeff DiNicola canned 20 points and Oliver Powers added 15 to lead the Red Devils to the easy win. Joe Fedak grabbed 12 rebounds and Tom Murphy dished off seven assists. Clarke Gilles and Herloff Sorenson played well.

Bullets 36, Celtics 30 – Matt Baier popped in 16 points as Sam Kerr, James Sharpe and Tyler Covert had strong floor games to lead the Bullets past the Celtics. For the Celtics, Evan Kennedy scored nine points while Tony Vacaro added six. Dana Hansen, Joe Pieretti and Dan Greenwood played well.

Saints 55, Deamon Deakins 44 – Kevin O’Connell poured in 22 points and Robbie Phillips dished off 10 assists as the Saints overcame the Deakins. Kevin McCarthy grabbed 12 boards and Tom Capozziello made seven steals. For the Deakins, Nicky Tarantino canned 20 points while Sean Devaney dished off eight assists.

Rockets 54, Hawkeyes 24 – Shane Wurtz dropped in 14 points to lead the Rockets to the win. Max Brazo, Mitch Udiskey and Ben Mahoney played well. For the Hawkeyes, Bobby Mascher scored eight points as Chris Haylon (four assists) and Zach Dent (four steals) played well.

Saints 57, Bullets 54 – Ryan Schmidt scored 15 points and dished off six assists to lead the Saints to the win. Will Arndt grabbed 10 rebounds while Austin Cirella made eight steals and Michael Coates registered 10 blocked shots. For the Bullets, Ryan Daly canned 15 points while Ryan Korth grabbed six boards. Xhulio Halili played well.

Intermediate Girls

Da Bears 22, Suns 21 – In a battle of unbeatens, Da Bears came out on top as Jessica Gibbons canned 11 points and Rachel DiVanno grabbed 10 rebounds. Shannon O’Gorman hit the front end of a one-and-one to break a 21-21 tie with 19 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Kaitlin Vos Winkel, Kristy Papaj and Meredith Bridges sparked the defense. For the Suns, Stefanie Clavette popped in 14 points as Olivia Phenix (four assists), Lauren Sarna, Courtney Campbell and Grace Winans (thee steals) played well.

Liberty 24, Gaels 16 – Jade Mather scored eight points to lead the Liberty past the Gaels. Kiersten Lynch dished off four assists, Natalie Galante made three steals and Sarah Read grabbed five boards. For the Gaels, Julie LaPerch popped in eight points while Allison Blume and Caitlin Gibney played well.

Blue Angels 21, Liberty 12 – Nicole Davis had eight points and Erin Bell had seven rebounds to lift the Blue Angels to the win. Jillian Moller and Emily Peters played well. For the Liberty, Suzie Gissen canned eight points as Sarah Principi, Katie Fossum and Kiersten Lynch (six rebounds) had strong floor games.

Orange Crush 29, Huskies 21 – Madeline Keane dropped in 12 points as the Crush slipped past the Huskies. Alexi DeWolfe, Katie McManus and Katherine Lotrecchiano played well. For the Huskies, Lexi Black drained 13 points as Shannon DiLorio, Emily Cannavo and Ali Kennedy (six rebounds) had strong floor games.

Regulators 24, Knicks 19 – Alexa Powell scored six points and Maggie Kennedy grabbed six boards as the Regulators outlasted the Knicks. Alison Kron and Hannah Dillon had fine performances. For the Knicks, Nicole Rotante scored nine points and Caitlin Dowling added six. Melanie Rotante, Alison Monaco and Georgia Contois played well.

Intermediate Boys

Thunder 33, Raptors 17 – Ben Stoller popped in 11 points and Kaleb Rowe grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Thunder to the win. Ryan Dunnigan and Nick Madden played well. For the Raptors, Donald Morrissey had seven points, Nick Sajovic dished off three assists and Chad Magoulas played well.

Huskies 25, Vipers 22 –  Sean Burson canned 11 points and Jack McManus added six more to lead the Huskies. Peter Ovendorf and Max Lopez played well. For the Vipers, Jeff Grasson dropped in 10 points while Jack Zahansky and Mac Morlock had strong performances.

Panthers 30, Bears 23 –  Sean Burson canned 13 points and Eric Fiore dished off seven assists as the Panthers, with just one win heading into the game, knocked off the unbeaten Bears. Austin Ekstrom and Travis Szalay (eight rebounds) played well. For the Bears, Kevin Phillips had eight points as Jimmy Mooney (eight assists), Tom Bauer (six steals) and Tom Cassin (eight rebounds) played well.

Grizzlies 29, Spurs 23 – Jake Enriquez canned 15 points and Justin DeVellis added 10 more as the Grizzlies clawed the Spurs. Kory Kling, Josh Villa and Kyle Buckley had strong performances. For the Spurs, Brandon Marks popped in eight points while Charlie Helgren and Scott Keating played well.

Bullets 33, Hurricanes 24 – Patrick Zingaro and Rob Daigle combined for 14 points as the Bullets posted the win. Kevin Shpunt, Sam Langdon and Colin Moller had solid performances. For the ‘Canes, Mike LoBosco popped in 11 points while Mike McGoldrick, Connor Blanc and Chris Tenney played well.

Blazing Warriors 38, Regulators 33 – Colin Cooper canned 14 points to lead the Warriors to the win. Yossi Kohrman, Patrick Mullins and Michael Daubert played well. For the Regulators, Mario Pitzighelli and Mike Lord popped in eight points apiece while Bubba LeBlanc, Mike Vabner and Brandon Cooper had solid games.

Knicks 26, Rockets 16 –  Dominic Fedak dropped in eight points to power the Knicks past the Rockets. Brendan Callery, Dave Cartisano and Peter Kerns played well. For the Rockets, Kevin Dennis canned seven points, John Lebinski grabbed six boards and Chris Devaney dished off three assists. Peter Kung had a nice game.

Nighthawks 36, Blue Knights 31 –  Sean Ross poured in 21 points and Jack Kearney ripped down 12 rebounds to lift the Nighthawks to the win. Nick Dickinson and Hunter Low had strong floor games. For the Knights, Patrick Sullivan popped in 12 points while Stephen Conway, Jonathan Vaughn and Dylan Kelly played well.

Knicks 39, Nighthawks 23 –  Dave Lucia popped in 14 points and Jimmy Russo made 11 steals to lead the Knicks to the win. Tim McGrath had a solid floor game. For the ‘Hawks, Sean Ross had eight points and 10 rebounds as John Corsi and Jacky Kearney posted good games.

Liberty 10, Mighty Chicks 3 – Kerry Scallon and Danielle Shine scored four points apiece to lead the Liberty. For the Chicks, Mary-Joe Ross and Taylor Zingaro paced the offense as Claire Alexander and Morgan Machiarulo played well.

Lady Vols 21, Huskies 15 – Kristi Vos Winkel scored 13 points and Megan Logan made six steals to power the Vols. Callie Furphy and Carl Ferris played well. For the Huskies, Siena Cicarelli popped in four points and Emily Pieretti dished off three assists. Jenny Indelicato played well.

Wildcats 26, Liberty 15 – Cassie Davis scored 10 points and Jaclyn Daily added eight more to lead the Wildcats to the win. For the Liberty, Danielle Shine and Rebecca Grant combined for 13 points as Kerry Scallon and Juliana Sansonetti played well.

Bantam Boys

Runnin’ Raiders 27, Celtics 23 – Drew Tarantino canned 10 points and Dom Scaringella grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Raiders to the win. Logan Pulieri, Josh Tuffy and Matt Villamanna played well. For the Celtics, Michael Davis popped in 10 points as Matthew Barra, Justin Weiner and Brenton Scott had solid games.

Huskies 44, Blue Devils 34 – Jim Parker poured in 20 points and Matt Hoyt added 10 to fuel the Huskies’ offense. Scott Kelley and Nate Steinbrey played well. For the Devils, Doug Miller popped in 10 points while Colton Smith and Nick Cagganello had solid performances.

Knicks 37, Nighthawks 34 – Virgil Procaccini popped in 10 points to lift the Knicks to the win. Jacob Moore, Wesley Morlock and Otto Kerler (six rebounds) played well. For the ‘Hawks, Chase Wurtz dropped in 12 points as Conor Gallagher, Luca Imbimbo and Michael Dinielli had strong floor games.

Yellowjackets 21, Cavaliers 14 – Troy Frangione scored 12 points to lead the ‘Jackets to the win. Robert Linden, Matt Rosa and Don Sun played well. For the Cavs, Jack Lago canned eight points while Matt Lindell, Patrick Afriye and Jimmy Leidlein played well.

Midget Girls

Blasting Blueberries versus Shooting Stars – Samantha Canavo, Juliana Patelli, Brooke Hadgraft and Aime Alexander led the Blueberries as Cassie Fisher, Emily Turco, Joanna Vodola and Madison Duffy paced the Stars.

Hyper Hippos versus Yellowjackets – Maren Brady, Michaela Nowacki, Kate Fallon and Molly Begg had strong floor games for the Hippos while the ‘Jackets got nice performances from Kayla DiSibio, Victoria Kroha, Jenna Hansen and Celia Gold.

Red Tigers versus Orange Tigers – Kelsey Muniz, Amy McGurk, Kelly Merrick and Maddie Peck powered the Red Tigers as Mikayla Kuligowski, Ashley Marks, Hannah Bartlett and Jillian Gibney anchored the Orange Tigers.

Yellowjackets versus Red Tigers – Avery Griffen, Jenna Hansen, Victoria Kroha and Megan Powers played well for the ‘Jackets as Kathryn Kerins, Amy McGurk, Emma DeFlumeri and Madeline Peck played well for the Red Tigers.

Shooting Stars versus Orange Tigers – Emily Turco, Sarah Lynch, Hanna Amaripour and Maddie Bridges had solid floor games for the Stars while the Tigers got strong performances from Shaina Errico, Ashley Marks and Samantha Kruzshak.
