How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 16 years. Previously, I lived in Devon.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: There is much more wildlife. Itâs in your yard. We see deer, coyote, birds, and hawks.
Family: My wife, Judy, and I have been married for 23 years. We have two daughters, Alyson, 21, who graduated from Colby College, and Stehanie, 19, who is a junior at Bucknell.
Pets: My daughter has a fish, Jerry, who is named after her swim coach.
Hobbies: Skiing, racquetball, golf, reading, and jogging.
Favorite Books and Authors: I like mysteries and biographies. I am currently reading a book by Tom Clancey.
Favorite TV Show: I rarely watch TV.
Organizations: I am a member of the Lions Club and a board member of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce. I have been actively participating in donating blood since I was in high school, and encourage others to give blood. Iâve even phoned to get people to come and give blood. Because of the new finger prick, more people are being turned away as blood donors because it picks up iron deficiencies that the ear prick didnât. Giving blood takes a little time, but youâre doing a great thing for many people.
Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The fire at Georgeâs Pizza, when the gasoline truck rolled over. Also, years ago, when you would be driving on 84 and not see a car, and you wondered why they built this highway.
Favorite Vacation Spot: I donât have a favorite place, but I do like to travel. Weâve been to the Caribbean, skiing out west and in the Alps, and just came back from a cruise in the Mediterranean, with stops at Turkey, Greece, and Egypt. Turkey is the place to go for an affordable vacation. The dollar is so strong now. Istanbul is a beautiful city. The Mediterranean cruise was from port-to-port with not much time in any place. We were in Egypt for two days where we saw the Sphinx, King Tutâs tomb, and the pyramids. The pyramids are crumbling. It was nice to see Egypt, but we didnât have much time there.  Â
Personal Philosophy: To treat everybody the way I want to be treated. I believe humor is good for life. I like to have a few laughs.
