Hearts of Hope (HoH) of Newtown has planned a series of summer paint nights to honor Newtown’s teachers.

The next Paint With A Purpose event is scheduled for Thursday, July 22, from 5 to 9 pm, at Reverie Brewing Company, 57B Church Hill Road. HOH Founder Judith Pedersen will be guest speaker.

There is no admission fee for this event; costs are up to each participant.

All are invited to paint a palm-sized ceramic heart and to add a personal message of support. The hearts will be delivered to teachers in Newtown for the 2021-22 academic year.

Cost is $10 per heart, with all supplies included.

Guests will be invited to order from the brewery’s menu of craft beers, wine, hard seltzer, and cider. Snacks will also be available.

Reservations are requested, and should be done via newtown@ourheartsofhope.org.

Help HoH reach its goal of creating a heart to welcome back every Newtown teacher in the fall. This is a fitting way to fulfill Hearts of Hope’s purpose of “creating hope one heart at a time.”

For those unable to attend this event, Hope Kits including an unpainted ceramic heart, paints, brushes, ribbon, a gift bag, message card, and instructions can also be purchased. Send an e-mail to newtown@ourheartsofhope.org and reference Newtown Teachers for orders and details.

Kits are also available for curbside pickup on the third Wednesday of every month at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street. Contact HOH-Newtown for details.
