Need Something New? Swap For It!

Ever have one of those days when you look in your closet and think, I have nothing to wear? That skirt you bought last year and never wore because it didn’t fit right is taking up space in your closet? Those shoes you never wore because they hurt your feet? That blue sweater that doesn’t go with anything else you have? And how about all those pretty pieces of jewelry you haven’t worn in years or have never worn? Are your cabinets and cupboards full of items just collecting dust?

Bring up to five of those unwanted (but good) items to The 2nd Annual Swap Night at Newtown Congregational Church on Friday, October 21, at 7 pm. The church’s Circle of Love is hosting the event, which will double as a fundraiser for Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut.

Attendees will be given a ticket for each item they bring, up to five, which will enable them to use to swap for someone else’s items.

There will also be raffles, entertainment, table games, plenty of friendly conversation, and loads of good snacks and beverages.

Come with your friends and neighbors and bring your unopened makeup samples, barely worn coats, gift items, and pretty dresses. Jewelry and small household items are also encouraged. Everyone can walk away with something new… or new to them, at least.

All funds will be donated to Hospice, and any items left over at the end of the night will be given to charity.

The church is at 14 West Street, and is fully handicapped accessible; telephone 203-426-9024.

Openings are still available for Swap Night entertainment. If you would like to volunteer for the event contact Ester Nichols at 203-788-1398 or e-mail pilgrim555@charter.net Mrs Nichols can also be contacted for general information about Swap Night.
