To the Editor:

I support Mitch Bolinsky’s re-election as Newtown’s state representative for the 106 district.

Mitch always works hard for Newtown families, especially during this pandemic. He has helped families receive unemployment they needed to feed their family, helped small businesses receive bridge and PPP loans, as well as small business loans. Mitch fought off five attempts from state government to install tolls on our roads that would have devastating effects on Newtown citizens. Mitch always works across party lines for good legislation that will help Newtown.

While Mitch loves to work collaboratively with other legislators on many topics, he is always thinking what is best for Newtown. Mitch does not vote on things just because every else is voting one way or another, it is always with Newtown’s interest first. Mitch did not need a third party to say to him don’t vote to approve the police accountability bill as it was poorly crafted and has major flaws. He was the first to say we support our police and will keep our police presence in our schools and keep our community safe.

Mitch has never voted to increase taxes but advocates for wiser spending and better budgeting .

He has fought for and received millions of dollars for our schools and town over his tenure.

These are just a small sample of what Mitch does for our town and I want him to continue working for Newtown families.
