Occupation: I am an affiliate marketer/blogger. I run a Facebook page, Mom’s Deal Headquarters, where I post the best deals and sales I find that are family related.

Family: My husband is Richard. He is in IT cyber security. Our children are EJ, who is a freshman at Yale; Richie, who is at NHS; Michayl, who is at NMS; and Nate, who is at Reed. Also, my step-daughter, Lydia, who lives out of state.

Pets: We have Cocoa, a chocolate lab, and Duke, a yellow lab.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Almost ten years.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love thrift store treasure hunts and yard sales; watching Patriots and Nighthawk football ;and I unwind in front of the TV at night [watching] Survivor, Amazing Race, NCIS, FBI, Seal Team, SWAT. I collect Rae Dunn pottery.

What is your favorite book? The Bible.

What is your favorite travel destination? The Caribbean. We love to cruise. We get to visit multiple countries in one trip. Also, Disney World at Christmas.

What is the best part about Newtown? The friends we have made that are like family. Also, the schools. We have some pretty amazing teachers.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? I’m on the executive committee for Newtown Allies for Change. I volunteer as a cheer coach for Newtown Youth Football and Cheer. In the past, I served on the board of the SHS PTA and the board of NYFC.

What has been the greatest influence in your life? My career before I had children. I ran a girls’ after school program for the City of Boston, and I supervised a teen girls’ detention center in Boston for juvenile offenders. The majority of the girls I worked with came from extremely tough backgrounds — major traumas at young ages — but they were resilient. They taught me that you never know what someone’s story is and the pain they carry, and they showed me true resilience working through their life situations.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? My husband. Life is crazy with all of these kids and activities. We have regular date nights, but I’d love to spend an entire day with just him and I in the warm sun and ocean snorkeling off a boat, or we could be walking around a Disney park.

Who is your favorite musical artist? I love a wide range of music – everything from ’90s hip hop and R&B to current country music like Kane Brown, as well as pop music like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. I listen to a lot of contemporary Christian artists, too.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Put your marriage first — before kids, work, and everything else. I think it’s the reason my husband and I are more in love now than our wedding day.

What is something you cannot live without? My phone. It contains so much important information and the family schedule.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My children. They are all genuinely kind and caring human beings. I feel lucky to be their mom.
