Registration Underway For Third Annual National Vigil Service

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Newtown Foundation, in partnership with St Marks Episcopal Church and Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, will host a Third Annual National Vigil Service of mourning and loving remembrance for all who have fallen victim to gun violence in America, Wednesday, December 9, at St Marks, in Washington, DC.

The public is invited to join the families of victims of gun violence, survivors, gun violence prevention advocates from multiple gun violence prevention organizations, and special guests, in honoring all Americans affected by gun violence.

St Marks Episcopal Church is at 301 A Street SE, near Capitol Hill.

Registration is required. For those traveling from the Washington DC metropolitan area, a seat at the National Vigil can be reserved at eventbrite.com/e/2015-3rd-annual-national-vigil-to-endgunviolence-tickets-18500380135.

Those in need of transportation from Newtown, on a chartered bus, are asked to register by November 16, at docs.google.com/forms/d/1jbvDuvBiQZ6swOGBdhSVruJBg67lAJx4Hb5iCvcVknk/viewform.

Financial assistance will be available for immediate family members of victims and survivors of gun violence.

The December 9 National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence will lead the National Vigils to #EndGunViolence, December 10 through 14. These 50-state vigil/events will be hosted by gun violence prevention advocates and faith groups nationwide.

Currently, more than 150 local vigils/events are being planned in 36 states, Washington DC, and in Mexico.

The Newtown Foundation is a Newtown-based, volunteer, nonprofit organization formed after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Its mission is “To provide comfort, education, scholarship and other support and resources to people and communities impacted by, and living or growing up among or in the aftermath, of violence in American society; and to help them lead the way toward positive cultural change over the long term.”
