Robert A. Chura

West Haven

Robert A. Chura, 71, of Sandy Hook, beloved husband of Patricia Norko Chura, died May 5 at home, with his loving family by his side. Mr Chura was born on September 16, 1934, in Bridgeport and was the son of Anton and Helen Felisko Chura.

Survivors in addition to his loving and devoted wife include his two children, Robin and her husband, Adam Drummond, Sr, of Sandy Hook and Mark R. Chura of Waterbury; five cherished grandchildren, Adam Drummond, Jr, Ryan Drummond, Connor Chura, Drew Chura, and Chase Chura.

Mr Chura was president and owner of Connecticut Safety Supplies of West Haven. He served with pride, honor, and distinction in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Robert was a member of the Monroe Rod and Gun Club and the NRA. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed gardening. He was a past resident of Fairfield for many years.

Funeral services were held May 9 from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, Monroe, and in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors followed in St Rose Cemetery of Newtown. Memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut VNA Hospice, 237 East Aurora Street, Waterbury CT 06708.
