Barbara Ann McKenna, 44, of New Fairfield, wife of Frederick Richard McKenna, Jr, died April 16 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs McKenna was born in Yonkers, N.Y., a daughter of  Barbara (Ringwood) Weber of Colrain, Mass., and the late Wendelin Weber.

She attended PS-32 and the Walt Whitman Middle School of Yonkers prior to moving to Sandy Hook in 1977 and graduating from Newtown High School in the Class of 1980. Moving from Sandy Hook to Holmes, N.Y., Mrs McKenna relocated to New Fairfield in 2004. She attended Western Connecticut State University and Pace College where she graduated with a BS degree in accounting.

In addition to her husband of eight years, and her mother, she is survived by a sister, Annette M. Weber of Sandy Hook; two brothers, Shawn Weber of Sandy Hook and Wendel E. Weber and his wife, Lauren, of Holmes, N.Y.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beatrice and Frederick McKenna of Greenwich; a brother-in-law, Michael McKenna and his wife, Noelle, of Holmes, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy McKenna of Danbury; a nephew, Austin; a niece, Lauren; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At the time of her death, Mrs McKenna was an accountant with the firm of Peretz, Resnick and Company, LLP of Tarrytown, N.Y.

She was a member of the Westchester Garden Railroad Club and attended St Edward the Confessor Church of New Fairfield.

An avid reader and lover of animals, she took pleasure in riding horses and swimming with the dolphins.

A loving wife and soulmate, she was a loving daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, aunt, and friend, as well.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, at St Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, at 10 am. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, on Friday, April 20, from 5 to 9 pm.

Memorial contributions to the animal welfare charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
