Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser
Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser
The Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents, Inc (CAFAP), and the Department of Children and Families have been running a Foster Care Awareness Campaign during May to show appreciation to all who commit themselves to foster care, and to build awareness regarding the foster care need.
To lend their support to this mission, the team at Genesis Hair Studio, 5 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook, will host a Cut-A-Thon Fundraiser on Sunday, May 31, from 10 am to 6 pm. Staff will be donating their time and talent offering haircuts to men, women, and children for a donation of $25. Chair massages by Ellen Adrianni will also be offered for $10. There will also be free face painting, balloons, and raffles.
Among the businesses and representatives that will be participating on Sunday are 121 at Oxford, Heather Aldo (Arbornne), Andreaâs Bake Shop, Bagel Delight, Nancy Bamberg Catering, Judi DeWolfe (lia sophia), Katherineâs Kitchen, Lexington Gardens, The Villa Restaurant, 4 Star Paving and Seal-Coating, and i95 FM, which will be broadcasting live from the salon.
Genesis has pledged that 100 percent of the dayâs proceeds will be given to CAFAP, which places children in foster care. The money will help offset some of the costs incurred by foster care families as well as helping with opportunities such as sports involvement, music classes, and other extracurricular activities.
Haircuts will be done first-come, first served. For additional information call 426-8045.
