Garden Club Will Offer A True

Trash To Treasure Program

Town & Country Garden Club will host a presentation by Pat Cole on Wednesday, May 10. This will be the final program of the garden club’s 2005-06 season. The program will begin at 7:30 pm and will be at Newtown Senior Center, within the town’s multi-purpose building at 14 Riverside Road.

There is no admission charge.

Mrs Cole’s program is called “Prospect Pat: A Trash To Treasure Program.”

“While I like to think of myself as a free, open-minded spirit, it seems the brakes on my car have a mind of their own,” says Mrs Cole. “I can’t pass up a roadside tag sale or discarded treasure. I believe that with a little imagination even items destined for the dump can be transformed into works of art.”

Her video presentation shows the before, the fixing up and the finished product placement in her gardens of her roadside treasures. After the video is screened, Mrs Cole will display some of those treasures so that participants can glean some of their own ideas.

Mrs Cole lives in Prospect with her husband Earl and their two cats, Chara and Lucky… who was picked up roadside and has become one of Mrs Cole’s most beloved treasures.
