Chris Body (Western New England College menâs lacrosse) â The Golden Bears will open the 2007 season this weekend when they host Union College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Body was a 2006 All-Pilgrim League first team pick and is a preseason All-American selection. He led the Pilgrim League in in goals-against-average (6.36), save percentage (.653) and regular season winning percentage (10-1, .909). He concluded the 2006 campaign with an 11-2 mark and made 147 saves in 14 games.

Casey Kirch (Sacred Heart University menâs lacrosse) â The senior midfielder (the alltime leading scorer in Newtown High School history) will captain the Sacred Heart squad in 2007. The Pioneers opened the season last weekend at Colgate and suffered a 14-5 loss. As a junior, Kirch had a goal and an assist while appearing in all 14 games. He scooped 17 ground balls on the year and had six caused turnovers. He scored his lone goal and had three grounders in the Pioneersâ 9-8 win over Delaware on April 8 and had a season-high five groundballs and two caused turnovers at Villanova on April 1. He also played in all 14 games as a sophomore and notched a goal and assist while picking up 14 ground balls with two caused turnovers. He recorded his two points in a 13-12 win over Manhattan on March 13, 2005, in Florida.

John Oliver (St. Maryâs College menâs lacrosse) â The junior attackman scored three goals as St. Maryâs opened the 2007 season with a 31-3 rout of Hood College and then added a goal as the Seahawks fell, 12-11, to Roanoke College on February 24. Last year, Oliver played in 11 games for the 13-4-0 Seahawks and registered one goal. As a freshman, Oliver played in 10 games for the 10-6-0 Seahawks and registered three goals and an assist.

Brian Sharnick (Brown University menâs lacrosse) â Sharnick, a 2004 graduate of Fairfield Prep, is a starting close defenseman for the Brown University Bears, who opened the 2006-07 campaign with a 12-11 overtime loss to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. The Bears call Sharnick âthe strongest man on the team ⦠can neutralize a big bull dodger and make his presence known as he lays the lumber with his checks.â Last year, Sharnick played 10 games, earning a starting role versus Hartford, and picked up six ground balls along the way. At Fairfield Prep, was first team All-League, first team All-State and All-American as a senior.

David Kugielsky (Savannah College of Art & Design menâs lacrosse) â The junior midfielder scored a goal as SCAD topped No. 10 Elon University, 13-8, in a Southeastern Lacrosse Conference match last week. Kugielsky also scored back on February 11 when the Bees recorded their first win of the 2007 season, an 8-4 win over North Carolina State in Division II action. The Bees are 2-3.

Jenna Van Waalwijk (Muhlenberg College womenâs softball) â Van Waalwijk will be the starting third sack for the Muhlenberg College softball team as it opens the 2007 season at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

Kacy Foehrenbach (Keene State womenâs basketball) â The Owls advanced to the Little East Conference semi-finals with a 71-56 win over Plymouth State in the quarters and then advanced to the championship with a 56-40 win over Western Connecticut State University. But the Owls fell to Southern Maine, 68-57, and now await a visit against the Maine Maritime Academy in the NCAA Division III tournament on March 2. Foehrenbach saw a minute of action against Plymouth State in the quarters.
Tim Lux (Middlebury College swimming & diving) â Middlebury College finished fourth last weekend at the NESCAC championships with 1,182 points ⦠well behind Williams College, which scored 2,019.5 points. Lux finished second in the 50 breaststroke at 26.89 (just .06 seconds behind Lawrence Chan of Tufts), was the second leg of the 400 medley âAâ relay which took second at 3:25.53 (just .43 seconds behind Williams College), finished third in the 100 breaststroke at 58.94 and eighth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:14.88. The NCAA championships will begin on March 15.

CJ Maurer (St. Bonaventure University swimming & diving) â The St. Bonaventure menâs swimming and diving finished second to the University of Massachusetts at Atlantic 10 Conference Championships last weekend at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in Buffalo, New York. Maurer was fourth in the three meter diving at 450.90 points, well behind of Karo Isajan of La Salle, who set a new Atlantic 10 record with 617.65 points.

Kyle Tyll (Sacred Heart University ice hockey) â After a 4-2 loss last weekend against Army, the Pioneers concluded the 2006-07 regular season at 20-10-4. Tyll has six goals and three assists for the Pioneers, who will be the top seed in the Atlantic Hockey Conference playoffs and will host the winner of the play-in game between Canisius and AIC in the conference quarterfinals on March 10.

Meg Regnery (Sacred Heart University womenâs lacrosse) â Returns to the field as a sophomore attackman for the Lady Pioneers. As a freshman, Regnery appeared in two games.
Alexandra Isaacs (Chatham College womenâs swimming) â The Chatham College womenâs swimming & diving team captured the Atlantic Womenâs Colleges Conference (AWCC) championship recently, besting the College of Notre Dame by 18 points. While Isaacs did not place in the meet, she helped the Lady Cougars in their regular season finale against Bethany by finishing fifth in the 50 freestyle (33.58) and against the College of Notre Dame, she finished fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:34.50).
