Spring 2026 Newtown Talks Speaker Series To Continue At Edmond Town Hall
Following the appearance of journalist and television host John Quiñones on January 15, Edmond Town Hall is proud to announce the continuation of its Spring 2026 Newtown Talks Speaker Series, an engaging collection of conversations, film, and thought-provoking ideas designed for anyone looking for an interesting night out and a fresh perspective.
All events begin at 7 pm and are hosted by Suzy DeYoung and Lee Shull, whose thoughtful, conversational approach sets the tone for each evening.
The series will continue on Saturday, February 7 with Sit With Me While I Die, with a special film screening followed by a conversation with acclaimed actor James Naughton and director Brian Russell.
They will discuss the making of the film, the personal experiences that inspired it, and the larger questions it raises about mortality and the topic of medical aid in dying (Death with Dignity). The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the filmmakers.
Author and neuroscientist Lisa Genova will take the stage on Thursday, February 26. Genova is the author of Still Alice, which was adapted into the Academy Award-winning film of the same name. Her work draws on both science and storytelling to explore the brain, identity, and the human experience.
On Thursday, April 23, audiences will hear from Dr Lisa Miller, a leading voice at the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and mental health. The author of The Awakened Brain: The New Science of Spirituality and Our Quest for An Inspired Life, her talk will offer a thoughtful look at resilience, meaning, and the science behind belief.
Miller’s show was originally scheduled for September 11, 2025.
VIP tickets for this event include Skip The Line Meet & Greet and/or book signing access.
The Spring 2026 series will conclude on Thursday, May 21 with author and prison reform advocate Lara Love Hardin, author of the memoir The Many Lives of Mama Love, an Oprah’s Book Club selection. Her powerful personal story opens the door to conversations about redemption, justice, and transformation.
