Court Drops Felony Charge Against Sandy Hook Woman
A Danbury Superior Court judge has found a Sandy Hook woman guilty of an
infraction, rather than the more serious "Class D" felony she was originally
charged with, after the woman, the judge, and the state's attorney agreed to a
lesser charge in connection with a bar fight the woman was involved in last
August at the Question Mark Cafe in Newtown.
Sally B. Ingram, 26, of 162 Berkshire Road, initially was charged by police
with second-degree assault, a Class D felony, after the fight. Police arrested
her last October on a warrant.
Ms Ingram pleaded "no contest" to the lesser charge of creating a public
disturbance, an infraction. The judge then entered a plea of guilty to the
charge, resulting in Ms Ingram being fined $50, plus $27 in court costs.
